We *Heart* Pirates

We blame all of this pirate fever on Jack's older friends: the Thomas boys who had the first birthday party at Pirate Island Pizza, The Morningstars, and of course the Kytes. All have contributed to Jack's pirate exposure. After the birthday parties, we stuck with the harmless Veggitales Pirates that don't do anything for a long time. But, last weekend, we rented Peter Pan and Jack was wide eyed to see Captain Hook and Smee and the Crocodile! and he quickly noted the difference in flavor between the "dangerous" pirates on Hook's ship and the "nice" pirates from Veggietales.

No surprise that for the latest Sleep Chart reward (if he sleeps/stays in his room until 6:30 AM, he gets a sticker) Jack requested an outing to Pirate Island Pizza complete with his best effort at a Pirate outfit (black t shirt with black pirate bandana on his head, while the bandana is on you must refer to him as Pirate Jack. Of course his beloved Rock Star hoodie had to go over the whole thing, so some of the effect was lost. So he's a pirate rocker.) and came home with a foam pirate sword. Big Times.

So, obviously no surprise when today's post-church conversation went like this:

Kristen: Jack, how was Sunday School today?

Jack: Good we watched a movie.

K: About?

Jack: Jesus! He went out on a boat. There was a big storm...and there were pirates.

K: Oh, and what happened?

Jack: He told the storm to Stop! And it did!...And he was on a pirate ship!
