Well, this Blog announcement is a bit late, but Jack will be a Big Brother sometime around December 15th! That makes Kristen about 21 weeks pregnant right now (a little over halfway). Ultrasound was today, revealing a healthy 1 lb baby with all parts in the right places and a profile that looks pretty identical to Jack's ultrasound pics...

Our House

Doughy Bread
You never know what a tired toddler will find funny...tonight it was Jim's observation that his freshly baked zucchini and goat cheese bread had turned out a little doughy in the middle.

Helping Grandad
My parents came up to pick up Katie after her stint at our house. They stayed for a week and managed to fit it lots of fun in the mountains and many much needed projects around our house. Here is Jack with his brand new Home Depot brand tools helping his GrandDad with the new window box for our front window.

With Aunt Katie
Katie came to stay for almost a month and was Jack's most favorite companion. He called her Katie at first, but then dubbed her "Caden" instead and still asks for her several times a day now that she's gone. Here they are with the bear sculpture in Park City
Eye Trauma
Getting ready to leave the house one morning, Jack was in such excitement to go to the library (Lie-bair-wee) that he picked up his little wooden shape-sorter box (no idea why he needed it) and started running for the doorway, only to trip and come down with his face upon the corner of the box and the box upon the floor. Split a small gash just past the corner of his eye. So, we skipped the library and went to the doctor where they GLUED the wound shut. Instead of stitches, no needles, no pain. The glue stayed on until Jack picked it off before falling asleep one night about 4 days later, and all has healed up nicely.
Cooking Alone
When he's not helping us cook, Jack likes to cook on his own. I wasn't really paying attention the day he took the steamer (and all its parts) out of the cabinet in the kitchen, around the kitchen table, past the microwave cart and into the laundry room, where he had located an outlet at his level. He then set it all up and this is how I found him...just in time. :)
Don't worry, those outlets have since been covered.
Fireworks with Dad and Aunt Katie
Jack's first fireworks experience. Here he is lighting a Penguin (yes, a penguin) whose eyes, ears, and various other parts then shot out fire balls. Pretty Wonderful. Thank you Morningstars for introducing us to such delights.
