The First Week
Jack and Thomas love being Big Brothers! They both are super sweet with the babies. Thomas is most interested in pointing out their "tiny toes" and "look at those tiny fingers?!"
Two Babies!!
Kaki came to stay for two weeks. She was indispensable and the boys had such fun going on special one on one outings.
Life with four kids certainly takes its toll...
Welcome Andrew and Jane
On Saturday morning August 6, 2011 we welcomed Andrew Jacob and Jane Elizabeth!
Born at 36 weeks (4 weeks early) Andrew weighed 6 lbs 1 oz and Jane weighed 5 lbs 5 oz.
Kristen's OB broke her water at 8:00 AM and Andrew was born at 11:09 and Jane at 11:22 AM.
Andrew's delivery was routine but Jane failed to descend head down after Andrew was delivered. The OB could only find Jane's shoulder and with a sudden drop in Jane's heartrate called for an emergency C Section. The Anesthesiologist got Kristen all hooked up with blood pressure, heart rate monitors and oxygen and laid her back so she could turn on her side for a Spinal. At this point the OB reached back into Kristen's uterus and found a foot. She called out, wait, I've got a foot! I've got two feet. Lets have this baby! Push! She pulled Jane out feet first much to everyone's relief.
Both babies did great and were able to room in with Kristen and Jim and go home on Monday afternoon.
