Home Improvement

The beginning of December brought four new windows!!
Which is good, because our old windows...well, two were original to the house (circa 1915) and very drafty, and the other two, in our bedroom...single pane aluminum...you can see pictures...definitely not keepers...

So, as is usually the case, Kristen saw the opportunity for a major overhaul and somehow managed to talk Jim into taking on a vast home improvement project against his better judgement. So, for the first few weekends in December, Jim was miter cutting once again, Jack was very interested in the saw, caulk gun, hammer, drill, well..everything...and the end result is a bedroom that finally has new windows, real wooden window sills (instead of strange 1960s plastic speckle), window trim, and crown molding. What a huge difference!

Oh, and this is also the reason why our Christmas cards are getting out so late this year....note to self: never do home improvement projects in DECEMBER!
